It was started to be constructed during the period of Yıldırım Beyazıt (1381 – 1384) and has been completed in 1401. Having been fixed during the expedition of Suleiman the Magnificent to Rhodes, the mosque has been greatly restored in 1893, the period of II. Abdülhamit Khan and it took its final form with a dome.
