The house where the worldwide famous traveler, scientist, historian, author, folklorist and the citizen of Kütahya Evliya Çelebi was born was reconstructed adjacent to his grandfather Kara Ahmed Bey’s Shrine. The old structure next to the mansion was expropriated by Kütahya Municipality and turned into a place where our handicrafts would be alive. The General Assembly of UNESCO has announced 2011 as the commemorative year of Evliya Çelebi due to the 400th anniversary of Evliya Çelebi’s birth.
