The shrine of the grandfather of the famous traveler, scientist, author and folklorist Evliya Çelebi , Kara Ahmed Bey, is located in the Maltepe Street whose old name is Zeryen. Evliya Çelebi stated in his travel book “Seyahatname” that his grandfather Kara Ahmed Bey’s shrine was adjacent to the houses in Zeryen Street while he was telling his visit to Kütahya in 1678.
