Having been arranged for 40 years in Kütahya, International Kütahya Craftworks and Trade Fair has opened as “The Festival of Tile, Thermal, Culture, Art and Tourism” this year for the 41st time.
Having given a speech at the opening ceremony of the festival being arranged at the fair area of Kütahya, the Mayor of Kütahya Municipality stated that the fair events started to be arranged 40 years ago are inaugurated for the 41st time this year as “The Festival of Tile, Thermal, Culture, Art and Tourism” .
Stating that they turned International Kütahya Craftworks and Trade Fair into a festival because of the fact that the importance of the fairs whose ambiance started to remind kermises, Saraçoğlu said:
“Perhaps this year we won’t be able to feel the ambience of a festival here but we are taking a step to initiate it in our 41st year. Hopefully, we will take important steps about this subject through the supports of the citizens of Kütahya and our institutions. Our festival will remain open in 15-30 August. Especially, we will be trying to put our rich historical and cultural structures forward during this time. We will work on our fortunes below and on the ground and tell both our city and the guests coming from other places about them . We will be talking about out tiles, thermal and its benefits in terms of health as well. Our citizens will have great time for 15 days by participating in wonderful activities at our festival.”
Having stated that they decreased the number of corporations participating the festival in order to improve the quality of it, Saraçoğlu also said several popular artists will perform concerts during the event.
Later on, protocol members visited the stands at the festival.
Governor Şerif Yılmaz, members of the parliament of Justice and Development (AK) Party Kütahya Şükrü Nazlı and İshak Gazel, Provincial Gendarme Commander Mustafa Uğur, Provincial Police Chief Mehmet Gülnaz, Provincial Chairman of Justice and Development (AK) Party Kütahya Ali Çetinbaş,the Chairman of Central District, the office managers, guests and citizens attended the opening ceremony.
